You are absolutely right, and I am so glad that you wrote this! After I had my children, and was venting about this or that, I had a mom tell me, "Enjoy it while you can, they grow up so fast." I KNOW they grow up fast, and I KNOW that I will miss my babies when they are grown, but I absolutely am not going to miss everything about these times, nor am I going to enjoy every minute! *deep breath* So thank you for writing this, lol.
Hi Stacie, Thanks for taking the time to read and comment! It is true, we will look back and wonder where the time went. But...we shouldn't beat ourselves up for not enjoying ever second of the imperfect journey!
Wow, what a great post. I just went over and read it. I feel like we might be related if only through our pure understanding of what being a mother is really all about. There is no way to enjoy every moment. I also don't like giving new moms silly advice like that. I still get the "enjoy this time...it goes so fast". I totally agree to some extent...but some days I do wish time away...because I'm ready to move on to the next stage with my child and not HAVE to answer the same question 25 times and constantly be applauding in the bathroom every time they make it in the potty. All this to say...AMEN to your well written advice!!! :-) ~Kimberly
